ALAN JACKSON TOPS THE 40 GREATEST COUNTRY SONGS OF THE DECADE! CMT (Country Music Television), has announced the GREATEST SONGS of the DECADE and ALAN JACKSON topped that list with "WHERE WERE YOU (When The World Stopped Turning)". A song Alan was inspired to write after the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Alan debuted the song on the 2001 CMA awards and it was the Number 1 song for 5 weeks in 2002. And went on to result in a grammy for Alan.

What do YOU think about this list? I, for one think there should be more BROOKS & DUNN songs and at least a couple from REBA. I have no idea how CMT came up with their calculations for this list. It definitely is not based on airplay or record sales.
