After seven years of dating, living together and raising six kids, Angelina Jolie andBrad Pitt are engaged. Pitt's manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, confirmed the news to ABC News magazine in a statement, saying, "It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There’s no date set at this time." She added that Pitt designed the ring.
The news of the engagement first surfaced after Jolie was spotted sporting what US Weekly magazine described as an engagement ring on Wednesday while visiting the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Chinese Galleries.
A spokesperson for jeweler Robert Procop subsequently told various media outlets, "I can confirm that, yes, Robert Procop did indeed design an engagement ring for Angelina Jolie, designed in collaboration with Brad Pitt." The jeweler has designed many pieces for the couple.
The two actors met on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, when Pitt was still married to actressJennifer Aniston. Pitt and Aniston announced their divorce in early 2005, months after that film had wrapped. Jolie was previously married to actors Billy Bob Thornton andJonny Lee Miller.
