It was KEVIN COSTNER himself who discovered the song "I Will Always Love You" for the movie 'The Bodyguard' that he & Whitney Houston starred in.
Originally, Whitney was to sing Jimmy Ruffin's "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" on the soundtrack. However, Kevin's favorite song was Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You". And suggested to movie producers and to Whitney that she should sing it. Record Producer David Foster did some tweaking for the song and Whitney did sing it and it became one of her biggest hits! Dolly presented Whitney with the Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Female award at the 1994 Grammy Awards for that song.
