Instagram threw in a little post Christmas surprise to it’s users today (Thursday) with a sudden change — instead of the normal feed and scrolling process, it was a feed that scrolled from left to right that showed everything on planet earth in your feed. They are calling it a ‘test’, but it led to immediate backlash all over social media. The big cheese at Instagram said that the change had been meant as a small test, but a ‘glitch’ caused it to roll out to a massive number of people.
“That was supposed to be a very small test that went broad by accident. Should be fixed now. If you’re still seeing it simply restart the app. Happy holidays!” tweeted Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, shortly after the test caused a wave of backlash on Twitter.
Mmmmm hmmmmm…an ‘accident’. Okay Instagram, we’ll give you this one…but we are keeping an eye on you this year!
