Before Facebook, Twitter, Instagram…heck, even MySpace…there were bumper stickers. Sure you still see one every now and then, usually something political or saying you’re a proud parent of an Honor Student, but nothing like what it used to be like. ‘Back in the day’ as they say, some people would plaster all kinds of messages onto their cars, trucks and vans to get their opinions about whatever out for everyone to see. I wonder, what is the reason for the phasing out of the classic bumper sticker? Is it because they are hard to get off? The sticky residue left behind if you can get them off? Maybe because people were laughing or glaring at the driver of the car that boasted ‘My other car is a Lamborghini’, or the fill in the blank for President.
Either way, whenever I see a sticker or in this case a bunch of stickers, I just smile as I pass by because that’s somebody that puts it out there for all to see and smiles at the laughs, finger points, thumbs ups or whatever as they drive by.
