My two favorite times of the year are Christmastime and award season. I’m very diligent about getting my homework done in preparation for whichever is coming up: seeing every Best Picture nominee for the The Oscars, and listening to any nominated album I haven’t heard yet for the Grammys.
The Oscars air later this month, and the Grammys are this Sunday, so I’m going to be a busy girl over the next few days and weeks! I love appreciating all the incredible music that has been released over the last year and watching artists perform (in creative, sometimes downright weird, ways) the songs we’ve been listening to on repeat. But I have to admit my favorite part of the Grammys, or any award show, is making predictions as to who will win within each of the major categories. Now, my guesses don’t necessarily represent who I’d like to win–but here’s who I have my money on for the 2019 Grammy Awards in the Country category:
Best Country Solo Performance Nominees:
Wouldn’t It Be Great? – Loretta Lynn
Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters – Maren Morris
Butterflies – Kacey Musgraves
Millionaire – Chris Stapleton
Parallel Line – Keith Urban
Predicted Winner: Millionaire – Chris Stapleton
Best Country Duo/Group Performance Nominees:
Shoot Me Straight – Brothers Osborne
Tequila – Dan + Shay
When Someone Stops Loving You – Little Big Town
Dear Hate – Maren Morris & Vince Gill
Meant to Be -Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line
Predicted Winner: Tequila – Dan + Shay
Best Country Song Nominees:
Break Up in the End – Cole Swindell
Dear Hate – Maren Morris & Vince Gill
I Lived It – Blake Shelton
Space Cowboy – Kacey Musgraves
Tequila – Dan + Shay
When Someone Stops Loving You – Little Big Town
Predicted Winner: Tequila – Dan + Shay
Best Album Nominees:
Unapologetically – Kelsea Ballerini
Port Saint Joe – Brothers Osborne
Girl Going Nowhere – Ashley McBryde
Golden Hour – Kacey Musgraves
From a Room: Vol. 2 – Chris Stapleton
Predicted Winner: Golden Hour – Kacey Musgraves
In addition to the award presentations and acceptance speeches, we can look forward to performances from Dan + Shay, Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, and Dolly Parton!
