State health officials say Illinois is seeing the first downward trend in the death toll since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Governor J.B. Pritzker announced yesterday that there were 43 more deaths from the virus, a count lower than each of the past six days.

Illinois has 20-thousand-852 confirmed COVID-19 cases, up 16-hundred-72 yesterday.
