Like everyone else, Home Sweet Home Ministries has found it necessary to adjust our practices in order to protect everyone’s health and safety. Towards that end, we have made the difficult decision that our volunteers will not deliver hot meals to people who are homebound on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, a tradition that we have carried out for many years.
However, Home Sweet Home Ministries is currently working with past volunteers to contact meal recipients from last year, to offer them a holiday greeting and a grocery gift card. Unfortunately we will not be accepting new sign-ups. We have a limited number of gift cards available and have reserved them for those who signed up in 2019. This effort will help nearly 300 households in need in our community.
In addition, due to safety precautions, Home Sweet Home will not be serving a sit down meal to community residents on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Anyone from the community can receive a sack lunch upon request at the front desk.
Without the generous support of volunteers and donors, this new effort to provide a little comfort wouldn’t be possible. Home Sweet Home appreciates your support during these challenging times. We would like to wish everyone and their families many blessings.
